Money20/20 is the largest fintech conference in the world, bringing together payments companies, banks, tech firms, and investors across three days in Las Vegas (October) and Amsterdam (June). With 10,000+ attendees in Las Vegas and nearly as many in Amsterdam, it’s one of the best networking opportunities in the industry—and your attire matters.

This guide covers exactly what to wear at Money20/20 across both editions, for every format from morning keynotes to late-night sponsored parties.

Money20/20 USA (Las Vegas): Dress Code

Dates: October | Venue: Venetian Expo, Las Vegas

The Las Vegas edition has a slightly more relaxed dress code than you might expect from a financial services conference. The warm Nevada weather in October, combined with the Las Vegas setting, creates an atmosphere where business casual is the consistent standard but with more latitude than European events.

Daytime sessions (Monday–Wednesday):

  • Business casual is the baseline
  • Blazer with chinos or dress trousers for men
  • Tailored trousers or smart dress with blazer for women
  • The exhibition floor is warmer—breathable fabrics help

Evening events: Money20/20 USA has a significant party circuit—sponsored evening events that range from cocktail receptions to full parties.

  • Smart casual to cocktail attire for sponsored dinners
  • Some parties are more casual—check event communications
  • Women often wear cocktail dresses or elevated smart casual
  • Men: dark suit or blazer with dress trousers for formal dinners; smart casual for parties

The Vegas factor: Money20/20 USA attendees do socialize more at the hotel casino and bars than at European equivalents. Having one smart casual outfit separate from your conference attire is practical.

Money20/20 Europe (Amsterdam): Dress Code

Dates: June | Venue: RAI Amsterdam

The European edition attracts more traditional banking professionals alongside fintechs, which shifts the dress code slightly more formal than Las Vegas.

Daytime sessions:

  • Business casual is the consistent standard
  • A blazer is more consistently worn here than in Las Vegas
  • June weather in Amsterdam is mild—layers are practical (conference halls are air-conditioned)

Evening events: Amsterdam’s evening networking events tend toward smart casual to business formal depending on the event type.

  • Sponsored networking events: smart casual to cocktail casual
  • Private dinners with banking executives: lean business formal
  • General networking receptions: business casual

Amsterdam weather consideration: June in Amsterdam can range from 15°C to 22°C. Rain is possible. If you’re walking between venues, have a smart outer layer.

What to Pack for Money20/20

For a 3-day conference (men):

  • 2 blazers (navy and charcoal cover everything)
  • 3 dress shirts or quality button-downs
  • 2 pairs of dress trousers or chinos
  • 1 evening outfit (dark suit if attending formal dinners)
  • Quality leather shoes + 1 smart casual shoe option

For a 3-day conference (women):

  • 1 quality blazer
  • 2 smart trousers or skirts
  • 2–3 tops/blouses
  • 1 smart dress (day/evening crossover)
  • 1 cocktail option if dinners are scheduled
  • Comfortable walking shoes + 1 elevated option

Exhibitor and Sponsor Attire

If you’re representing a company at the exhibition stand, your company’s dress code takes precedence. Many exhibitors wear branded shirts or specific company attire. If your company doesn’t specify, business casual with your company’s visual identity (logo items, branded accessories) is standard.

For booth staff, comfort is essential—you’ll stand for 6–8 hours. Shoes and layers matter more than any other attendee.

Speaker Attire

If you’re speaking on a Money20/20 stage:

  • Dress one level more formal than the general audience
  • Choose solid colors that read well under stage lighting
  • Avoid patterns that create visual distortion on video
  • Coordinate with your company if appearing as part of a brand session
