TechShow X
About This Event
TechShow X is the merged ten-year anniversary edition of Fintechzone's PayTechShow and BankTechShow events, combining the Hungarian payments and banking technology communities into a single two-day Budapest gathering. It sits alongside BANKTECHSHOW, FINTECHSHOW and PAYTECHSHOW as calendar anchors for the same audiences.
What happens
The merged format builds on the focused single-day programming of the predecessor events into a more substantial two-day programme covering both the payments and banking-technology agendas of the Hungarian financial services sector. Parallel tracks cover the payments value chain (cards, instant payments, POS, mobile wallets, acquiring) alongside banking technology (core banking modernisation, digital channel strategy, customer experience, risk and operations). Demo and pitch slots give Hungarian and regional fintech startups stage time alongside established players. The exhibition floor combines payment infrastructure providers, core banking platforms, integration partners and the broader vendor ecosystem serving Hungarian banking and payments.
Who attends
The combined audience reflects the full Hungarian financial services technology ecosystem: senior product, strategy, IT and operations roles from Hungarian banks and credit cooperatives, executives from card networks, processors, acquirers and payment service providers active in Hungary, founders of Hungarian and CEE fintech startups, banking technology vendors and integration partners, and a regulatory contingent from the Hungarian National Bank. Visitors come from neighbouring CEE markets and from international vendors active across the region. The ten-year anniversary edition draws particularly heavy senior attendance given the milestone framing.
Dominant themes
The agenda emphasises the immediate priorities of the Hungarian payments and banking sectors. On the payments side: instant payments and the continuing evolution of the AFR system, ISO 20022 messaging migration, the practical implications of the EU Instant Payments Regulation, card-present innovation including soft POS and tap-to-pay on phones, and digital-wallet adoption. On the banking technology side: core banking modernisation, digital channel strategy under shifting Hungarian consumer banking behaviour, the role of cybersecurity and operational resilience under DORA, regulatory technology and reporting modernisation, and the application of AI across banking operations from credit decisioning to customer service. Cross-border CEE banking and payment integration features throughout.
Planning to attend
Budapest is well-connected by air to most European hubs, central hotels are walkable to most venues used over the years, and the city is cost-competitive relative to comparable Western European conference destinations. The conference language is Hungarian, so non-Hungarian speakers should plan for translation support or focus on the meeting-room time rather than the plenary sessions. The merged format makes this an unusually efficient single trip for anyone selling banking or payments technology into Hungary.
