Global Fintech Fest
About This Event
Global Fintech Fest is the principal Indian fintech conference and one of the largest in Asia, hosted in Mumbai by the Payments Council of India and the National Payments Corporation of India (National Payments Corporation of India) alongside government partners. It sits alongside INFINTECH, Sibos and Money20/20 USA as calendar anchors for the same audiences.
What happens
A multi-day programme combines main-stage keynotes with parallel tracks across payments, lending, insurance, wealth management, regulation and emerging technology. A substantial exhibition floor combines Indian incumbents - banks, NBFCs, insurers, payment companies - with the dense ecosystem of Indian fintech startups across consumer and B2B segments. Cross-border programming explicitly addresses the international expansion of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and other elements of India's digital public infrastructure. Side events with regulators, government partners and international delegations extend the conference well beyond the main agenda.
Who attends
The audience reflects India's increasingly globally significant fintech position: senior leadership from Indian banks, NBFCs, insurers and payment companies, founders and operating teams from Indian fintechs across consumer and B2B segments, regulators from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDAI), government partners from the Ministry of Finance and adjacent ministries, and a heavy international contingent from companies studying India's digital public infrastructure model and evaluating cross-border partnerships.
Dominant themes
The Indian fintech agenda dominates: the continuing evolution of UPI domestically and its rapidly expanding international footprint, the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) and its implications for marketplace structure, the Account Aggregator framework and the practical realities of open finance in India, the Insurance and Wealth segments under DPI, the RBI's regulatory environment for digital lending, the e-Rupee CBDC pilot, the policy environment for crypto and stablecoins in India, AI applications across credit underwriting and customer service at India's specific scale, and the export of India's digital public infrastructure model to other emerging markets.
Planning to attend
Mumbai is well-connected internationally but visa requirements vary by nationality; check policies in advance. Hotel supply is plentiful but pricing varies sharply by location. Conference venue logistics depend on the specific year. The conference language is English with regional language support. International visitors should plan around Mumbai's significant traffic and consider hotel selection carefully relative to the conference venue. Many international visitors combine the trip with adjacent commercial meetings in Mumbai or Bengaluru.
The wider Asia-Pacific calendar also includes Hong Kong FinTech Week in November.
