Money20/20 USA
About This Event
Money20/20 USA is the largest fintech and payments conference in the world, gathering the entire US ecosystem at the Venetian in Las Vegas for four days each October. It sits alongside FinTech Meetup, Money20/20 Europe and FinovateFall as calendar anchors for the same audiences.
What happens
Six or more stages run simultaneously across the conference floor: a main stage for industry CEOs and headline keynotes, a payments stage focused on rails and infrastructure, a banking stage centred on traditional and challenger institutions, a stage for fintech operators and startups, and dedicated coverage for crypto, regulation and emerging technology. The expo hall is by some distance the densest concentration of US payments and fintech vendors anywhere in the year, with hundreds of exhibitors ranging from incumbent processors to early-stage startups. Side events - investor dinners, partner breakfasts, after-parties, side-tracks at adjacent hotels - extend the show well beyond the official agenda, and the unstructured time in hotel lobbies and casino floors is widely treated as part of the conference itself.
Who attends
Senior leadership from the largest US banks, card networks and processors set the tone; founders and C-suite from US fintechs across consumer, B2B and infrastructure form the next layer; and a dense regulatory and policy contingent - Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Federal Reserve, state banking commissioners - engage publicly with the industry. Investor presence is heavy across angel, growth and late-stage VC plus the corporate-VC arms of major financial institutions. Vendor presence includes every major US-active payment service provider, core-banking platform, fraud and compliance vendor, identity provider and embedded-finance platform.
Dominant themes
The 2026 US programme emphasises FedNow adoption and instant-payment use cases, RTP network growth, Click to Pay and tokenisation across the major networks, the regulatory environment for stablecoins and digital assets, the future of the CFPB's open-banking rule, embedded finance and Banking-as-a-Service consolidation, generative AI applications across lending, fraud and customer service, and the continued evolution of the US Buy Now Pay Later category. Cross-border payments, B2B virtual cards and the modernisation of US ACH and wire infrastructure round out the programme.
Planning to attend
Las Vegas in October combines high conference demand with peak shoulder-season tourist pricing - hotel rates can rival European conference cities. The Venetian and Palazzo together house the conference, side events and most attendee accommodation, making walking the primary mode of conference travel. Pass pricing is steep and rises closer to the event. Most attendees book meetings via the conference app well in advance - the conference is too large to navigate by drop-in. International travellers should plan for the time-zone reset and arrive at least 24 hours before the first session. The Venetian also hosts Fiserv Forum each August, the Las Vegas payments year is bookended by Fintech Meetup in February and ETA's TRANSACT in spring, and the European edition, Money20/20 Europe, runs in Amsterdam each June.
Also on the US autumn calendar is FinCon, the anchor event for the financial-content and creator economy.
