India isn’t just a fast-growing fintech market—on several measures it’s the centre of the fintech universe. UPI processes more real-time payments than any other system on earth, the account aggregator framework is rewiring how data moves through finance, and the digital rupee is one of the most-watched central bank digital currency programmes in the world. So it follows that India hosts the single largest fintech event on the planet by attendance.

This is our guide to the fintech and payments events that matter for India in 2026: the home-market anchors in Mumbai, plus the regional Asia-Pacific conferences Indian fintech teams travel to. For each, you’ll find the dates, the city, and who it’s really for. Every event links to a full guide with the agenda, venue, and a cost calculator.

The anchor: Global Fintech Fest

Global Fintech Fest — Mumbai, October 8–10, 2026

Global Fintech Fest (GFF) is the largest fintech event in the world by attendance, and the unmissable gathering of the Indian fintech year. Hosted in Mumbai and built around India’s globally significant digital-finance stack—UPI, the account aggregator framework, and the digital rupee—it regularly draws the Reserve Bank of India, NPCI, global fintech leadership, and a six-figure crowd of attendees.

If your work touches India or South Asian payments in any way, GFF is the one event to plan the year around. Best for: anyone building in, selling into, or studying the Indian and South Asian fintech ecosystem.

Also in Mumbai

In-Store Asia — Mumbai, May 12–14, 2027

The leading event for retail and in-store experience in the region, In-Store Asia sits at the intersection of retail, payments at the point of sale, and commerce technology. For payments professionals, it’s a useful read on how in-store and omnichannel payments are evolving across Indian retail. Held in Mumbai. Best for: retail-payments, point-of-sale, and commerce-technology teams.

The regional events Indian fintech teams attend

India’s fintech leaders don’t only attend at home. Three Asia-Pacific anchors regularly draw strong Indian delegations, and they’re where a lot of cross-border and capital conversations happen.

Singapore FinTech Festival — Singapore, November 18–20, 2026

The world’s largest fintech festival by attendance, convened around the policy-finance-technology triangle and the annual checkpoint for global central bank governors and regulators. For Indian fintechs eyeing Southeast Asia, capital, or cross-border expansion, this is the most important regional event of the year. Best for: anyone working at the intersection of fintech, regulation, and Asian markets.

Hong Kong FinTech Week — Hong Kong, November 2–6, 2026

Asia-Pacific’s other flagship, hosted by InvestHK in Hong Kong, bridging mainland Chinese innovation and global markets across payments, virtual assets, and wealthtech. Best for: fintech professionals with any North Asia or China dimension to their work.

Money20/20 Asia — Bangkok, April 27–29, 2027

The newest regional edition of the Money20/20 franchise, bringing its deal-making format to Southeast Asia from Bangkok. Worth watching as it builds, especially for Indian fintechs targeting the broader ASEAN opportunity. Best for: payments and fintech teams with a Southeast Asia growth agenda.

How to plan your Indian fintech year

A few principles for getting real value from these events:

  1. Build the year around GFF. For anyone serious about Indian fintech, Global Fintech Fest in October is the fixed point. Plan other travel around it.
  2. Use the regional anchors for expansion. If your India strategy includes Southeast Asia or capital, Singapore FinTech Festival and Hong Kong FinTech Week are where those conversations happen.
  3. Budget the whole trip, not just the ticket. Use the cost calculator on each event page, and see our data study on what fintech conferences actually cost for the benchmarks.
  4. Get the Mumbai logistics right. Our Mumbai city guide covers airports, where to stay near the venue, and local transport. And our guides to maximising conference ROI and conference networking basics cover the preparation that turns a badge into pipeline.
